Smith.ai sells two receptionists under one name and this is the AI one: compare it against the human-first Virtual Receptionists, which start at $300, not against a competitor's single plan. The per-call rate is published; the refund policy is not — a customer who prepaid $2,500 for six months and never switched it on was refused a refund on 2026-09-01. A BBB complaint describes two waves of 100-plus silent spam calls billed at $2.20 each, over $300 in disputed overages.
