Pressure Test is a newsletter about AI tools for home-service contractors: roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical. It covers what the tools cost, what they actually do, and which shops are using them. Two issues a week, about three minutes each.
The name is the method. A plumber pressure-tests a line before closing the walls. We pressure-test a vendor's claims before you pay for them.
Who writes it. Mike Geary, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Each issue is drafted with AI and checked by a human before it goes out. We say so because the newsletter's whole premise is honesty about AI tools.
How we handle facts.
Every price is read off the vendor's own page on a stated date. If the vendor hides the price, we say so, and that counts as a finding.
Every quote is from a real, named person, dated and sourced. Never invented.
Vendor case studies are labeled as the vendor's numbers and run next to what the review sites and complaint records say.
We name the vendor, and we say when a tool is bad.
Reviews and sponsors. Vendors never see a review before it publishes. Sponsors never change one. Any paid placement carries a disclosure line, and any affiliate link says "Paid link" next to it. As of September 2026 there are no sponsors and no affiliate links.
